This year America’s Christian Credit Union is celebrating its 60th Anniversary and focusing on 5 priorities that have been foundational throughout the years: "Stronger ministries, stronger communities, stronger futures, stronger families, and stronger finances." We are looking for students who exemplify any one (or more) of these 5 areas of cultural impact.  

In 2018, 6 scholarships of $2,500 will be given to distinguished students

Criteria To Apply
  1. Full-time student 
    • High school senior or recent graduate
    • College/University undergraduate student enrolled in a minimum of 10 units
    • Graduate program student enrolled in a minimum of 4 units
  2. Member of America’s Christian Credit Union*
    • If you have recently applied for membership but do not yet have your membership number, please enter "recently applied" in the membership number box when completing your scholarship application. 

Applications are judged on academic achievement, essay response to prompt, content video, and scope of community activity.  A scholarship committee consisting of America’s Christian Senior Management Team will maintain sole selection of scholarship recipients. Any falsification of application or attachment to the application will cause the candidate to become ineligible for scholarship consideration.  Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Exceptions to this may be granted for extenuating circumstances. 

*Applicant must be an America’s Christian Credit Union member in good standing and meet specific qualifying criteria to apply. If they are not a member the may open a checking or savings account to become eligible to apply for a scholarship.  To apply for membership, visit www.americaschristiancu.com.  Qualifying membership criteria: applicant must maintain membership for at least three months prior to receiving a scholarship award. If they are selected recipient and do not meet the criteria at the time of the scholarship recipient announcement they must wait until this period has ended to receive the scholarship award.  

Application ( submit online Print ), essay, videos, transcripts, and references become the property of America's Christian CU. We reserve the right to use the recipient’s name, photo, and excerpts of an essay/video or attachments in promotional material and official applications. 

Purposes of scholarship award are intended for tuition and fees required to enroll at or attend an eligible educational institution and course-related expenses, such as fees, books, supplies, and equipment that are required for the course at the eligible educational institution at the sole discretion of the recipient. Award recipients are responsible for any and all applicable taxes. Consult a tax advisor for more details. 

Volunteers, employees, and relatives of America's Christian CU's employees are not eligible to apply.

Submission Requirements

Required Documentation: 

  1. Completed Application
    • If you have recently applied for membership but do not yet have your membership number, please enter "recently applied" in the membership number box when completing your scholarship application.
    • 1-page essay typed in the space provided or included as an attachment.
    • Listing of current school year’s extracurricular events and community service, with dates of involvement and an approximate number of hours per month.
  2. Transcripts - electronic transcripts and e-transcripts are acceptable.
  3. Reference - items required:
    • the applicant's full name as it appears on the application
    • reference's name
    • relation to the applicant (i.e. teacher, spiritual leader, employer, other influential adults)
    • reference's contact information. 
  4. Video - Applicant may choose to attach a video file (MPV, MP4) to the online application (file size of attachments are limited to 25 pages total or 5MB, whichever is reached first), provide a public web link to the online video (YouTube or Vimeo) or documentation of a social media video post. If you are using a social media video such as an Instagram post you must tag America’s Christian Credit Union in the post, enter your social media information in your application, and have a public profile or add America’s Christian Credit Union as a friend. 
  5. For high school seniors and graduates only, a copy of acceptance letter from a school/college/university.

Options: 

  • Digital Submission (Preferred): Submit a single, completed online application including all required items as attachments to the application. If you apply online you will receive an automated email confirmation that your application has been submitted for consideration by the scholarship committee.
  • Mail Submission: Place the completed application with ALL required documents in a single envelope packet, and mail the packet to an ACCU Corporate Headquarters. If you mail your application packet you will receive an email when your packet has been received by a scholarship committee member.

  • In-Person Submission: Place the completed application with ALL required documents in a single envelope packet, and drop off the packet to an ACCU branch. If you drop off your application packet you will receive an email when your packet has been received by a scholarship committee member.

All applications and materials must be submitted by 5 pm PT on April 30, 2018. Application received in more than one online submission, email, or multiple packets will not be reviewed.  Confirmation of receipt of application submission does not guarantee a review for award if all required items were not submitted according to rules, regulations, and criteria mentioned on this page.
